Falmouth to St Ives

21st to 22nd April
Falmouth-Newlyn-St Ives

April weather is fickle: plenty of breeze for sailing reefed round the Lizard on Monday, then windless for motoring round Lands End the next day. Dot found an evening train home from Penzance, while we nestled among the fishing vessels in Newlyn for the night.

I plan to stay a few days before heading on north.

Totnes to Falmouth

Fresh bright April days for the launch from Baltic Wharf in Totnes; and then a misty morning on the serene River Dart for motoring down to Dartmouth.
Ready to launch

With crew, Lori and Dot on board, Misty has been sailed comfortably quickly down to Falmouth – just an overnight stop on the River Yealm on the way.

Chilly and cheerful in the sun
It is always a joy to be aboard, doubly so at the start of a new season with sparkly seas and bright sunshine.
Mustn’t get too excited though: today is cold, wet and windy. Never mind; Falmouth is a fine town and Dot has found some Easter eggs!
